Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated: 17 July 2026
This policy explains how FollowCan Technologies handles personal data across our websites and products — HashtagCMS, MsgBrd.tv, FollowCan and Social Media Manager — and in the course of our engineering work.
1. Who we are
FollowCan Technologies, of Vikaspuri, Delhi, India, is the data controller for personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
When we build or host systems for clients, we usually act as a data processor on their instructions. In that case the client's own privacy policy governs how that data is used, and our contract with them sets out our obligations.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details you submit through our forms — name, email, company and your message.
- Account details where a product requires an account.
- Content you create or upload while using a product.
- Billing details for paid services, processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, timestamps.
- Product usage data: features used and errors encountered.
- Cookie data as described in section 4.
Information from third parties
- Delivery and engagement events from messaging platforms, where you use Social Media Manager.
- Authentication details from a sign-in provider, where you choose to use one.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the Services — running accounts, delivering features, providing support. Basis: performance of a contract.
- To reply to enquiries — responding to what you send us through our forms. Basis: legitimate interests, or steps taken before entering a contract.
- To improve and secure the Services — diagnostics, aggregate analytics, abuse prevention. Basis: legitimate interests.
- To take payment — billing and records for paid plans. Basis: performance of a contract, and legal obligation.
- To send updates — product news where you have asked for it. Basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.
- To meet legal obligations — accounting, tax and responding to lawful requests. Basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
4. Cookies
We keep cookie use minimal:
- Essential cookies — session and CSRF protection. These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.
- Preference cookies — remembering choices you have made, where a product offers them.
- Analytics cookies — only where you have consented, and only to understand aggregate usage.
Your browser can block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site.
5. AI features
Some of our products use artificial intelligence to summarise, classify, retrieve or draft content. Where a feature sends your content to a model to do this, we:
- send only the data needed for that specific feature to work;
- use providers under contracts that prohibit training on your content; and
- do not use your content to train our own models without your explicit consent.
AI output can be wrong. Review it before relying on it, particularly for anything consequential.
6. Messaging data
If you use Social Media Manager, you upload contact lists and send messages through third-party platforms such as WhatsApp. You are the controller of the contact data you upload; we process it on your behalf to deliver your campaigns and report back on them.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to contact every recipient, and for honouring opt-outs. Message content and delivery events pass through the platform concerned and are also subject to that platform's own privacy policy.
7. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, payment processing and AI providers, each bound by contract to protect it and use it only on our instructions.
- Messaging platforms — where a feature you use sends messages through them.
- Professional advisers — lawyers and accountants, where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose.
- A successor — in a merger or acquisition, under the same protections; we would notify you first.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where data leaves a jurisdiction with data-transfer restrictions, we rely on an approved safeguard such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
9. How long we keep it
- Contact enquiries: 7 days after our last exchange.
- Account and content data: for the life of the account, then deleted or anonymised within 7 days.
- Server and security logs: 7 days.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, least-privilege access controls, regular dependency patching and audit logging on sensitive operations. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and any relevant regulator as the law requires.
Report a suspected vulnerability to [email protected]. We will acknowledge it and keep you posted.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting past processing; and
- complain to your data protection authority.
Email [email protected] to exercise any of these. We respond within 2 days and may need to verify your identity first. Exercising your rights costs nothing and we will not treat you differently for it.
12. Children
Our Services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as our products change. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and we will give notice of material changes through the Services or by email.
14. Contact
Privacy questions go to [email protected], or write to us at Vikaspuri, Delhi, India. You can also use our contact page.
